2nd Annual Beartracks Celebration: A Cultural Extravaganza for Indigenous Peoples’ Day
On October 9, S&K Technologies was a proud sponsor of the 2nd Annual Beartracks Celebration, hosted at Caras Park in Missoula, MT, for Indigenous Peoples’ Day.
The Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes (CSKT) hosted the community celebration commemorating the renaming of the now Beartracks Bridge, previously known as Higgins St. Bridge.
This name was selected to honor one of Chief Charlo’s trusted advisors, Beartracks, who was a prominent member of the CKST tribe when they were forcibly removed from the Missoula area territory.
The event was rich culturally and included a powwow with competitive dancing, diverse food vendors, and a market featuring Indigenous-made products with more than 30 booths.
S&K Technologies and S&K Mission Management (SKMM) both represented the corporate booth during the event. Handing out swag and engaging with community members, in order to positively foster an understanding and connection between our corporate entities and our local community impact.
